A leather couch is luxurious and if you want to make sure it stays that way you have to know how to clean leather properly. Wear and tear, of course, is inevitable but as long as you clean and care for your leather properly the material will only improve with age. Leather requires regular care to look its best. Leather furniture need to be dusted with a dry cloth and receive a monthly application of leather cream to keep the material soft and moisturised. These are our top cleaning tips on keeping your leather furniture looking immaculate.

You will need these cleaning tools

saddle soap
leather cream
a soft cloth
rubbing alcohol
cotton tips
a spray bottle with some warm water

Gather your materials, ie. saddle soap, water, leather cream, soft cloth, rubbing alcohol and cotton tips.
Start with soap and water. To tackle mild stains, dip a clean, damp washcloth in warm soapy water and use it to wipe away any stains. Darker stains can be treated using rubbing alcohol and a cotton tip. Just be careful to apply it directly on the stain spot so the alcohol doesn’t spread to other parts of the leather.
Dry the leather thoroughly – Be sure to carefully dry the leather with a soft dry cloth to avoid any mould.
Apply the leather cream. Re-moisturise the material by applying the cream with a clean cloth. Let it sink in, then buff to shine.
